HEY THERE - we’re back for the THIRD annual Trash Bag Century, taking place on September 13 2026. We’re planning another great event this year and bringing back our finish line party at the East End Brewing Popup. Everything you need to know about this event can be found on this page and we will be updating regularly up until event day.
START:
We will be meeting up around 6:00am at the start point (the intersection of Westhall St. in the North Side and the North Shore Trail)
We will assign you numbers and give you pin-on number bibs at the start. We will start the ride at approximately 7:00am. PLEASE GET HERE EARLY TO SETUP, GET YOUR BIBS, AND PREPARE FOR THE RIDE. Please try to be at the start by 6:30. Everybody needs to be on the route by 7:15 at the latest, and we have to give out numbered bibs and do pre-ride safety briefings and have everybody on the course by 7:15. The rest stops will have hard open/close times, and it will be really hard to manage that if people are starting late.

The route is found at the following link. As this is a particularly long route, you can assume that there will be minor (and hopefully not major) changes between now and the day of the event. Please make sure you check for updates before loading it onto your computer.

BRING BEANS IF YOU WANT A STICKER:
Our friend Elliott is out doing some absurd hike that makes him unavailable to fulfill his bit of carrying a can of beans for the entire route and eating them at the end. Anybody who carries a can of beans the entire distance of the route and eats them at the end (either on video or in front of me personally) will get a GIVE UP Bean Delivery Club sticker. I will be inspecting your beans at check-in.
VOLUNTEERS / DONATIONS:
We can only do this ride every year because we have a ton of volunteers. If cranking out 100 miles on a random Sunday in September sounds like a bit too much, maybe consider volunteering. Our volunteer application is here:

We try to keep GIVE UP as free as possible to make it accessible to as many people as possible, and as such, this event is 100% free. Insurance, aid station supplies, and 26 foot rainbow arches cost money, though.
