WHO IS GIVE UP?

GIVE UP is a bunch of friends that ride bikes (and admittedly do other things) together.  If you're vaguely into punk rock and want to ride bikes, or at least the prospect of spending hours riding next to people who never stop talking about punk rock while biking isn't a dealbreaker for you, we're probably the bike club for you.

We ride fairly often and take a few multi-day / multi-state bike trips per year.  We realized that it'd probably be more fun and open up new opportunities if we brought more people along with us, so we're trying to find new friends.

HOW DO I JOIN?

There isn't really a "membership" here, at least not yet.  We like people to fill out our (completely optional) New Rider Questionnaire which lets us know what kind of rider you are, but you really can just come to any of our rides and hang out.  It also helps if you've ever seen the 1999 romcom "Simply Irresistible" starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and can discuss it at length, as it seems to always come up in our conversations while bicycling.

Basically, if you ride with GIVE UP, you're part of GIVE UP.  It's that easy.

WHAT IS A "TRASH BAG CYCLING CLUB?"

There are some people who consider themselves "real cyclists" who are members of "real cycling clubs."  These people probably have $10,000 bikes and perfectly matched kit to go with.  They are always wearing the right shoes and have very strong opinions on what makes a "real cyclist."  You're free to do all of that, but it's not a requirement to ride with GIVE UP.  We'll take anybody who wants to ride on whatever bike they happen to have.  Shit, we'll even help you find a good deal on a workable bike if you need one.

DIDN'T YOU FORGET THE WORD "DON'T" (AS IN "DON'T GIVE UP!")?

Quitting is awesome and we're not going to pretend otherwise
