GIVE UP is a bunch of friends that ride bikes (and admittedly do other things) together. We pride ourselves on being welcoming and inclusive and believe that everybody belongs on bikes. We run a couple regular group rides year round and even more regular group rides between April and October. If you’ve ever been looking for a group of folks who absolutely will not judge you for being who you are (or what kind of bike you ride,) come check us out.
our regular rides
all of our “official” group rides are posted to our strava page in advance but our schedule looks something like this

2nd sunday of every month: CHILL TRAIL RIDE
nice party pace ride over a section of trail. generally stops for snacks and hangouts at the midpoint. often times has ice cream involved
1st monday of every month: SOBER HANG OUT
chill bop around town - sometimes flat, sometimes hilly. show up sober and stay sober the entire time; this runs roughly april-october so we are done for the year right now
2nd and 4th monday of every month : DEALER’S CHOICE
GIVE UP’s least consistent regular ride, runs june-october. basically whatever the organizer (the “dealer,” if you will,) wants to do that week; this runs roughly april-october so we are done for the year right now
3rd monday of every month: QUEERCORE
GIVE UP’s party ride exclusively for the queer community; this runs roughly april-october so we are done for the year right now
every other wednesday: SUPER CASUAL WEDNESDAY
this is either the most accessible ride for folks new to group rides or the most predictable social hangout for people who do a lot of group rides. same route, same start time, same EVERYTHING every other wednesday. we average about 8-9 miles per hour and have a good time. if you’re nervous about biking with people, this is the ride to come to first. meets at the prison end of the north shore trail, goes to the millvale end of trail, and then turns around and comes back after a midpoint break

the other every other wednesday: MIX UP CITY RIDES
the most challenging of the regularly scheduled rides, we do 15-20 miles on city roads around town with 1,000+ feet of elevation. good way to start riding in groups and get used to hills. we wait at the top of hills for everybody

EVERY GODDAMN FRIDAY MORNING: COFFEE RIDE
5-10 mile casual social jaunt around town. we meet at 7:30am friday mornings at various convenient start points around town and do a friendly ride to a rotating list of coffee spots before getting on with our days.
we run this ride year round and don’t cancel for weather very often.

GIVE UP recently took over management of Coffee Outside Pittsburgh but we like to keep it separated from the rest of GIVE UP; right now the schedule is the 1st and 3rd sunday of every month. Follow us on Instagram and join the Strava club for updates on future rides!
